“The cream of the crop Philly artists, from all genres, coming together to raise money. It was amazing, so much love, so much Philly energy it was one big Philly love fest. I was impressed and it was done so professionally.”

Good Day Philadelphia FOX29
The Godfather of Gangster Rap, Schoolly D, and Love From Philly Co-Producer Craig Kaplan joined Good Day Philadelphia co-anchors Alex Holley and Mike Jerrick to discuss the World’s first ever 3-day virtual music festival.
“What’s going to happen to all the music venue workers, the people behind the scenes—the ticket takers and hostesses, the people who sweep the floor, the bartenders and stagehands? What’s going to happen to them?” Kaplan wondered. So he started to dream up an all-day, virtual music event to raise funds for them.”

LOVE
“It is so important to support the great musical legacy of Philadelphia and its musicians. I’m happy to be a part of this great benefit.”
Love From Philly’s spirit of unity, with a city’s resilient musical community united in common cause, was best captured in a charismatic performance by spoken word poet Ursula Rucker. “Philly born and bred, Tastykake sweet or hard of head,” she rhymed. “We are here … We live… We matter.”
The ever-changing playing field is never ending, that’s understood. But Global Pandemic, however, that’s one hell of a game changer, life taker and heartbreaker. If carrying on by simply singing a song can inspire others, lift the hopes and spirits of my Philly brothers and sisters, while raising funds in the process, oh, hell yes. That, I will always answer in the affirmative. With a resounding, Yes! Yes we can, and Yes we will. Together!
The work you put into this is monumental, and you did an amazing thing for this music scene and the city.
Our city has so much inspiring talent. We have amazing diversity and a blend of genres that makes me proud to be from here. Listening to Love from Philly made me hopeful for more coming together like this in the future, and really made me long to get back into our amazing local venues again. I can’t wait for the day when I can support all of artists and venues of Philadelphia again.
Absolute pleasure to be involved in this amazing Festival. Love from Philadelphia!
It was a huge honor to be part of this & I’m so proud of our whole community & scene. I’m really impressed how you guys put it together & executed everything during the stream as well. Bravo all around, it meant the world to me to be part of it.
Audience comments from the stream
You all put on an awesome event over this weekend. I really enjoyed tuning in!
In retrospect it was baffling just how massive the whole thing was. Talking with a bunch of people after the fact who watched it too and we all were in amazement just of the logistics alone!
I’m praying that we weren’t just living the future of live music, but feeling blessed to be part of a community of such great artists. There will always be a lot of love from Philly!
…Impressively executed streaming extravaganza… Technology was put to creative use…offering more to entertain the eye than the standard musician-on-the-couch livestream presentation…

MISSION
Love From Philly is a virtual city wide music & arts festival created to bring hope, inspiration, resources and love to Philly’s entertainment and arts community in these difficult times. The festival will showcase 3 days of Philadelphia’s unique culture to promote public donations for the unparalleled talent who build memorable moments for patrons in our city and around the world. All festival proceeds will benefit 30amp Circuit’s grants for Philly musicians, entertainment professionals, venues, and charitable organizations. Equally important, the event will provide a platform allowing our artists to be seen and heard in a moment when it’s needed most. Love From Philly will be remembered as Philadelphia’s response to the care and wellbeing of entertainment and arts professionals in a time where social and economic continuity was halted.
“The goal for Love From Philly is to bring help, hope, inspiration, resources and love to our entertainment and arts community who’ve been hit particularly hard in these difficult times. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to individuals and families that need it the most. Equally important, the event will provide a platform for our artists to be seen and heard at a time when our city needs them the most.”
– Craig Kaplan, Co-Producer
